Like most World Party albums, Private Revolution sounds very much of its time. The title track alone positively drips mid 80s indie-pop, starting out drenched in of the time synth sounds, before evolving into one of the album's undeniable high points. Ultimately, Private Revolution is no worse or better than say Goodbye Jumbo or Egyptology.
Karl Wallinger's insightful songs deal primarily with the responsibility of the individual to recognize and cope with the problems of the world.
