Casimir I (or Kasimir I) (after 1130 – 1180) was duke of Pomerania since his uncle Ratibor I's death in 1155/56. A son of Wartislaw I , he co-ruled Pomerania with his older brother Bogislaw I , receiving Pomerania-Demmin as his share just as Bogislaw received Pomerania-Stettin, and ruling the remainder in common.

Eldest son of Duke Wartislaw IV and Elisabeth of Silesia, Bogislaw had two brothers, Barnim IV and Wartislaw V. The brothers were joint rulers from their father's death in 1326.

Casimir or Kasimir III [1] (IV) [2] (1348 – 24 August 1372), oldest son of Barnim III, was one of the Dukes of Pomerania - Stettin (Szczecin). He died during a campaign against the Margraviate of Brandenburg during the siege of Königsberg (Neumark) in 1372.
In 1338, Brandenburg relinquished supremacy over Pomerania, and in 1348 Charles IV recognized the duchy as a fiefdom of the Holy Roman Empire, which helped to protect it from the Brandenburg margraves. The civil war in Brandenburg in the years 1349–1354 allowed Barnim III to extend his duchy by conquest. [1]

He was the son of Bogislaw V, brother of Casimir IV and Bogislaw VIII. He married Maria of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (daughter of Henry III, Duke of Mecklenburg) and was the father of Eric of Pomerania and Catherine of Pomerania . In 1377, he became Duke of Pomerania in Pomerania-Stolp; at times he was its coruler with his brother, Bogislaw VIII.
