The show aired from 1947-1954. Although over 315 episodes aired, only this small number appear to have survived.

The radio show, which ran until 1954, spun off a My Friend Irma movie (1949)—which also launched the screen careers of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis—and its sequel, My Friend Irma Goes West (1950).

8 de nov. de 2020 · My Friend Irma was a situation comedy that was so popular that it inspired movies, comic books, and a television program. Marie Wilson was the star of the series in all of its media formats. The series was created by Cy Howard, a writer for Jack Benny.
My Friend Irma was already a popular radioshow, and it clearly had that established premise to hold its own against this brand new comic duo (this was their first movie). Two, Jerry Lewis was almost written out of this (according to his biography about his partnership with Dean Martin I'm reading) until he co-created the character Seymour for the film.
