His legacy lives on through the tens of thousands that continue to follow his teachings, and through Auroville, the ‘universal city’ he built in what is now Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
9 de sept. de 2022 · Sri Aurobindo’s died in 1950 but his legacy was continued by The Mother, and now in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram (made a charity in 1955), and his many writings. Both were laid to rest in the grounds of the Ashram and Śrī Aurobindo and The Mother remain the spiritual head of the Ashram unlike other guru traditions.

He joined the Indian movement for independence from British rule, for a while was one of its influential leaders and then became a spiritual reformer, introducing his visualisations on human development and spiritual evolution.
