Matilde de Fife. Maud Carnegie, Condessa de Southesk[ 1] (nome pessoal em inglês: Maud Alexandra Victoria Georgina Bertha Duff; Londres, 3 de abril de 1893 – Londres, 14 de dezembro de 1945) foi a filha mais nova de Alexandre Duff, 1.º Duque de Fife, e sua esposa Luísa, Princesa Real, sendo assim neta do rei Eduardo VII do Reino Unido.
Maud est née à East Sheen Lodge, Richmond-upon-Thames dans le Surrey, le 3 avril 1893. Son père est Alexander Duff, 1er duc de Fife [3]. Il est élevé du titre de comte à celui de duc de Fife après son mariage avec la mère de Maud, la princesse Louise du Royaume-Uni, fille aînée du futur roi Edouard VII [3].

Maud werd hierdoor tweede in de lijn van opvolger in dat hertogdom Fife, na haar oudere zus Alexandra. In 1905 benoemde koning Eduard VII, haar grootvader, haar moeder tot Princess Royal. Ook besloot hij dat Alexandra en haar zusje Maud de titel “prinses” en de aanspreektitel “Hoogheid” zouden krijgen. Dit zonder verdere aanduiding.
