David Hartley Coleridge (* 19. September 1796 in Clevedon, Somerset; † 6. Januar 1849 in Rydal, Cumbria) war ein englischer Schriftsteller. Er war der älteste Sohn des Poeten Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Bekannt wurde er durch sein unvollendetes Werk Prometheus und seine Sonette, welche in Essays and Marginalia und Poems 1851 zusammengefasst wurden.
Hartley Coleridge was the oldest son of Romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Although he was the subject of two of his father’s poems—“Frost at Midnight” and “The Nightingale”—Coleridge was nonetheless estranged from his parents in his youth and raised by the poet Robert Southey.

David Hartley Coleridge was born on Sept. 19, 1796, in Kingsdown, Bristol, England. To the delight of his family, he displayed great mental agility during his youth. His wildness, though, worried his father and led the elder Coleridge and his friend William Wordsworth to address to the youth poems prophetic in their forebodings.
