Harvey Williams Cushing ( Cleveland (Ohio), 8 april 1869 – New Haven (Connecticut), 7 oktober 1939) was een Amerikaans neurochirurg en een pionier in de hersenchirurgie. Er gilt als Begründer der modernen Neurochirurgie und ist der Namensgeber unter anderem des Morbus Cushing und des Cushing-Syndroms .

De Cushing se han publicado tres biografías. La primera fue escrita por John Fulton, su hijo intelectual, la que tuvo dos ediciones en el año 1946: Harvey Cushing: A Biography, publicada por Thomas Springfield, que es la más conocida, y Biography of Harvey Cushing; título con que salió en Oxford por Blackwell Scientific Publications.
