Burkhard I, Lord of Zollern (Latin: Burchardus, Burcardus; born c. before 1025; killed as part of a feud in 1061) is considered the first well-documented ancestor of the Hohenzollern dynasty. Because of his name, it has been attempted to link the Hohenzollern family's descent to the medieval Burchardings family, but without success. [3]

Volgens de kroniek van monnik Berthold van Reichenau werd Burchard in 1061 samen met Wenceslaus van Zollern vermoord tijdens een vete. Wie deze Wenceslaus was en wat de familieband was tussen Burchard en Wenceslaus is onbekend en wordt in deze kroniek niet vermeld. Ook de reden en de omstandigheden van deze vete worden niet vermeld.

Según el cronista medieval Berthold de Reichenau, el noble Burkhard I, Conde de Zollern ( de Zolorin ), nació antes de 1025 y murió en 1061.
