In 1971 he formed Manfred Mann's Earth Band (MMEB). Mann's use of the Moog synthesizer was key to the sound of this band. MMEB had a very successful area during the mid 1970's and early 1980's but was disbanded by Mann in 1987 after being fed up with trying to produce hit records.
Manfred Mann's Earth Band have been releasing albums and singles since 1971. The Earth Band was formed in 1971 by South African musician Manfred Mann after the break-up of Chapter Three . Mann formed the Earth Band as a progressive rock group to break away from the pop genre.
Manfred Mann's Earth Band (MMEB) er et klassisk- og jazzinspireret symfonisk rockband, etableret af Manfred Mann i 1971. På den seneste turné i 2024 er et andet af de oprindelige medlemmer Mick Rogers ligeledes med. Kort før en længerevarende turné blev påbegyndt den 16. oktober 2009 forlod forsangeren siden 1990, Noel McCalla gruppen til fordel for en solokarrierre.
