  3. Gerald Hugh Grosvenor was born on 13 Feb 1907, the son of Lord Hugh William Grosvenor. He only inherited the title 4th Duke in 1963 on the death of his cousin, William. He served in the 9th Lancers from 1926 and commanded them in WW2. He was wounded on 18 July 1944 and suffered from septicaemia for the rest of his life.
