Hace 5 días · Uckington passed to Anne Bayning, who in 1647 married Aubrey de Vere, Earl of Oxford. After her death in 1659 the manor was divided between four coheirs, and at least one of the quarters was later divided into four parts.

The addition of Magna, or, as it occurs in some records, the more," was to distinguish it from the adjoining parish of Stanmore "the less," now Whitchurch.

(fn. 247) When the Parys estates were broken up c . 1675 Hildersham mill was sold with the Linton estate to Sir Thomas Sclater, (fn. 248) who had it rebuilt c . 1680.
