B. , only surviving son of Sir Thomas Stanley (second son of Edward Earl of Derby) by Margaret, daughter and coheir of Sir George Vernon of Haddon in the county of Derby.
Hace 3 días · After 1764 a quarry on the earl's land at Emscote was used exclusively, the stone being carried down the river on a boat built for the purpose, to be landed at a wharf by the castle mill. The Vineyard quarry was filled in in 1766. The cost of the earl's works as a whole for the eight accounting years 1764-71 amounted to about £9,250.
