In 1257, Nic. de Schelton was lord here and of Burnt-Illegh, and in that year gave lands there to the Abbot of St. Osith in Essex.

(fn. 35) John de Newburgh, Henry's son, brought an unsuccessful action against the queen c . 1305 for an estate including 2 fees in Raddington and Upcott, (fn. 36) but his son Robert (d. 1338) recovered the fees soon after 1327.
