Hace 2 días · The picture of Thomas Fairfax, 3rd Baron Fairfax of Cameron (1612–71), a 17th-century painting which came in 1791, was perhaps once the property of the Rev. C. J. Fairfax; and that of William Bendlowes (1516–84) was given by Edward Benlowes (1603?–76), the poet, whose portrait is also in the College's possession.

It was occupied by Royalist forces, those loyal to King Charles I. The Parliamentarians, led by Sir Thomas Fairfax, laid siege to the Priory in 1648.
