The siege of Yorktown was the last major land battle of the American Revolutionary War in North America, and led to the surrender of General Cornwallis and the capture of both him and his army. The Continental Army 's victory at Yorktown prompted the British government to negotiate an end to the conflict.

14 de feb. de 2020 · Lord Charles Cornwallis was born to an Earl, in London, in the year 1738. He began his militia career in 1756. Later he was elected to the House of Commons, and soon to follow he became Earl Cornwallis in his father’s place, upon which he entered into the House of Lords. While he was in the House of Lords, he stood up for the American Colonies.
