Sancho I de Portugal ( Coímbra, 11 de noviembre de 1154- Coímbra 26 de marzo de 1211), rey de Portugal, hijo de Alfonso I Enríquez y de Mafalda de Saboya, fue conocido como el Poblador por el estímulo con el que apadrinó la repoblación de los territorios del país. Con este propósito fundó la ciudad de Guarda en 1199.

Sancho I, nicknamed "the Populator" (Portuguese: "o Povoador"), King of Portugal, was the second but only surviving legitimate son and fifth child of Afonso I of Portugal by his wife, Maud of Savoy. Sancho succeeded his father and was crowned in Coimbra when he was 31 years old on 9 December 1185.
Fallecimiento. Viajó con su madre y hermana Blanca a Sevilla para estar junto a su abuelo el rey Alfonso X, [1] donde falleció, según algunos autores, en 1279, [3] antes de 1284 al no estar mencionada en el testamento de su abuelo el rey Alfonso X, [1] o en 1284 alcanzando la edad de veinte años.
