Steppenwolf's second live album, the more up-to-date Steppenwolf Live, came out in April 1970. It was recorded during concerts at the Santa Monica Civic Center, and added two studio tracks as a bonus; one of the concert cuts, "Hey Lawdy Mama," was pulled as a single and peaked at Number 35.
14 de oct. de 2015 · He apparently considers the 45 version a travesty and insisted that this collection feature the full-length, nine-minute album version. Unfortunately, the single version is really hard to find, and would’ve been nice to have. In addition to all of the Steppenwolf singles, four Jon Kay solo tracks are tacked on the end.

10 de jun. de 2015 · A matter of preference, I suppose. I didn't find the album version any more impactful than the single. In fact, I'm not likely to listen to a 9-minute song in its entirety unless it's one I really love. Monster is a good song, but it doesn't even rank in my top 15 favorite Steppenwolf songs. kanno1ae, Aug 21, 2015.
