Mary Louise Victoria ( Marie Luise Viktoria) was born in Coburg on 17 August 1786 in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. She was the fourth daughter and seventh child of Franz Frederick Anton, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, and Countess Augusta of Reuss-Ebersdorf. She had a rough childhood growing up with her brothers and sisters.
Princess Charlotte Wilhelmine of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (14 June 1685 in Coburg - 5 April 1767 in Hanau) was a German princess by birth and Countess of Hanau-Münzenberg by marriage. Life [ edit ] She was the daughter of the John Ernest IV, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld , and his wife, the Duchess Sophie Hedwig of Saxe-Merseburg (1666-1686).

This portrait of Antoinette of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld is a copy after the pastel portrait by J.H. Schroeder of c.1795 which forms part of a set of Francis Anthony, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, his Duchess and his children, at Schloss Callenburg, Coburg (exh. Coburg 1997, no. 1-19, repr.). Herbert Luther Smith was commissioned to make copies after the pastels for Queen Victoria.
Princess Sophie Friederike Karoline Luise of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (16 August 1778 – 9 July 1835) was a princess of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, and the sister of Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and King Leopold I of Belgium, and aunt of Queen Victoria. By marriage, she was a Countess of Mensdorff-Pouilly.
