Lady Patricia Ramsay (previously Princess Patricia of Connaught) was the daughter of Prince Arthur and Princess Louise Margaret and granddaughter of Queen Victoria .
Patricia lived with her parents in Canada and became extremely popular. On 22 February 1918, she was named Colonel-in-Chief of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, the last private regiment ever raised in the British empire and she designed the badge and colours herself.
Princess Patricia — "Patsy" to family and friends — was born on March 17, 1886 at Buckingham Palace London. Her father was Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, the third eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Her mother was Princess Luise Margarete of Prussia.
Patricia was born on 17 March 1886 at Buckingham Palace, the youngest of three children to Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, and Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia, Duchess of Connaught. She was named Victoria for her paternal grandmother, Queen Victoria , and Patricia because she was born on St. Patrick’s Day.

On 8th October 1972, Sir Alexander Ramsay died at the couples home, Ribsden Holt in Windlesham, Surrey, which had had been bequeathed to them by Patricia’s aunt, Princess Louise. It was here that Patricia, too, died just over a year later on 12th January 1974. She was aged 84.
