Organizzata in arie, recitativi, cori e pezzi d’insieme in linea con lo schema teatrale settecentesco, l’opera mostra un carattere decisamente retrospettivo e rappresenta l’ultima tappa del periodo ‘neoclassico’ di Stravinskij.
