Thursday, February 8, 2024, was a humongous day in the City of Pittsburgh, at Westinghouse High School, and in the life of Dr. Mary Lee Brady-Atkins. The oldest living descendant of Sally Hemings, who was born on May 11, 1928, and at age 95, was recognized for her “extraordinary works” and “unforgettable life” during a ceremony at her alma mater, Westinghouse.

Some of the programs and services offered at the school include the Science and Math Academy, the Business and Finance Academy, the Computer Literacy Program, Career and Vocational Guidance, the Earth Watch Education Program, and Operation Better Block.

The Bulldogs gave up the first two touchdowns of the game after allowing just two in their first six contests, but they charged back with 30 unanswered points on the way to a 36-20 win over Allderdice in the final at Cupples Stadium on Saturday.
