Joel David Moore (born September 25, 1977) is an American actor and director. He is known for his roles as Colin Fisher on the Fox series Bones and Dr. Norm Spellman in James Cameron 's Avatar (2009) and its sequels Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Avatar 3 (2024).
Moore acted in the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival for a couple of years before moving to Los Angeles in 2000. He soon found guest spots and recurring parts on TV series, leading up to a role in the Ben Stiller-Vince Vaughn comedy "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," where Moore used his lanky frame to comic effect.
