David Strathairn Born in San Francisco, CA, Strathairn harbored little ambition to be an actor when he was a youngster. But after graduating Williams College in Williamstown, MA, Strathairn attended a seven-week program at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in Venice, FL, where he learned the finer points of acrobatics, cramming into Volkswagens and slipping on banana peels.
