Il Merton College è uno dei collegi fondativi dell' Università di Oxford. Fondato nel 1264, è uno dei più antichi dell'università e fu creato grazie ad una generosa donazione da parte di William de Merton, l'allora Lord cancelliere di Enrico III. Di quel tempo rimangono gran parte degli edifici del primo quadrangle, fra cui la cappella.
Merton College est l'un des colleges constituant l' université d'Oxford au Royaume-Uni. Il est notamment connu pour les célèbres professeurs qui y ont enseigné, depuis Duns Scot au tournant au 13 e -14 e siècle. Merton a été fondé en 1264 par Walter de Merton, évêque de Rochester. C'est l'un des collèges les plus anciens d'Oxford.
Opening Hours. Monday to Friday 2pm - 5pm. Saturday 10am - 5pm. Sunday 12 noon - 5pm. Last entry is always 4:30pm. The College will be closed to visitors on the 13th July. The Chapel will be closed to the public from 15th July-15th September 2024 for construction work. The College reserves the right to close at short notice if necessary.
