Hector Berlioz ( 11. december 1803 – 8. marts 1869) var en fransk komponist . Han er en hovedskikkelse i fransk romantik og en af pionererne i programmusik. Hans mest kendte værk er Symphonie Fantastique . Hans farverige og klangfulde værker rystede datidens musikliv, selv om han dannede grundlaget for den moderne orkesterteknik.

Louis Hector Berlioz (11. joulukuuta 1803 La Côte-Saint-André, Ranska – 8. maaliskuuta 1869 Pariisi, Ranska) oli ranskalainen säveltäjä, kapellimestari ja musiikkikirjailija. Hänen tunnetuimpia teoksiaan ovat Fantastinen sinfonia ( Symphonie fantastique , 1830), Romeo ja Julia ( Roméo et Juliette 1839) sekä Faustin tuomio ( La Damnation de Faust 1846). [1]
