John Schlesinger, celým jménem John Richard Schlesinger (16. února 1926 Londýn – 25. července 2003 Palm Springs) byl britský filmový režisér a herec, v 60. letech jeden z režisérů britské nové vlny, který však většinu své kariéry působil v Hollywoodu.
John Schlesinger va retrouver du lustre sur le plan commercial avec son thriller Marathon Man (1976) qui lui permet de retrouver Dustin Hoffman. Le métrage, peu apprécié des critiques, cartonne au box-office mondial et dépasse le million de joggeurs en France.
John Schlesinger participe à des spectacles pour l'armée pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Il monte sur les planches à l'Université d'Oxford et commence à tourner de petits films. On le voit jouer notamment dans La Bataille du Rio de la Plata (1956) de Michael Powell et Emeric Pressburger.
