Frederick William and his son Frederick II, could not have been more different. While Frederick William loved the military, uniforms and parades, his son, turned to the fine arts. He composed, played the flute and studied the works of the philosophers. He focused his efforts on increasing agricultural production and improving the lives of the workers.
