Albertine Agnes van Oranje werd geboren op 9 april 1634 in het Haagse Stadhouderlijk Kwartier van de familie van Oranje-Nassau. Ze was de dochter van prins Frederik Hendrik van Oranje-Nassau (1584-1647), stadhouder van de Nederlandse gewesten Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelderland en Overijssel en zoon van de 'Vader des Vaderlands' Willem I van Oranje (1533-1584).
Family. Albertine Agnes was born in The Hague and was the sixth of nine children born to her parents. Some of her siblings died in childhood. Albertine and four other siblings lived to adulthood, her surviving siblings were: William II, Prince of Orange, Luise Henriette of Nassau, Henriette Catherine of Nassau and Mary of Nassau.
