Allan Kaprow. Artista estadounidense, uno de los creadores del performance. Junto con John Cage, Joseph Beuys, George Bretch, Wolf Vostell, el grupo Fluxus de George Maciunas y el grupo japonés Gutaï, Kaprow fue uno de los pioneros de este tipo de manifestación artística que trasciende el marco estrictamente plástico.

There was much cross-over between Happenings artists and the Fluxus group; Allan Kaprow and George Brecht especially were involved in both movements. It is therefore difficult to definitively categorize them as two entirely separate entities especially because Fluxus held several events at Rutgers University where Happenings had originated.

Allan Kaprow was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on August 23, 1927, and spent his childhood in Tuscon, Arizona. His family then moved to New York, where Kaprow attended the High School of Music and Art, graduating in 1945.
