In 1888 Korovin traveled with Mamontov to Italy and Spain, where he produced the painting On the Balcony, S panish Women Leonora and Ampara. Konstantin traveled within Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asia and exhibited with the Peredvizhniki. He painted in the Impressionist🎨, and later in the Art Nouveau styles🎨.

Konstantin Alekseevich Korovin es uno de los primeros impresionistas rusos. La recepción de sus obras fue diversa. Uno de los pocos contemporáneos que reconoció el talento del pintor fue Fedor Shalyapin. El cantante le llamó "el Paganini de la pintura". En aquella época, pocos estaban de acuerdo con la opinión de Shalyapin.

Konstantín Korovin es el pintor más destacado del llamado Impresionismo ruso, y mantuvo contacto con muchos de los artistas rusos más afamados. En 1875 ingresó en la Escuela de Moscú de Pintura, Escultura y Arquitectura, y tuvo como profesor a Vasili Perov.
