John Keats, nevertheless, wrote a series of odes in quick succession in 1819 and died soon after at the age of 25, leaving us with these remarkable poems of eternity. This young and ambitious man, who went to meet his friend at the British Museum, found himself astonished and preoccupied by the grand and alien classical Greek works of art he encountered.
