Contexto Obras. Desde 1790 Soane fue arquitecto del Banco de Inglaterra , que remodeló y amplió durante décadas. Su concepción parte de una eminente preocupación funcional por la distribución racional de los espacios y de un sentido de la elegancia arquitectónica basado en la claridad lineal y en la moderación en los ornamentos.

Sir John Soane was known for being one of the most important architects of the Regency era (in the early 1800s) and a dedicated art collector. As such, inside the museum, you will find architectural fragments, drawings, and models, as well as paintings, sculptures, furniture, and antiquities.
Opening Times and Tickets We are normally open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm (last admission 4:30). We are closed Monday and Tuesday, but remain open for bank holidays. Entry is free. The Bank of England has been at its current home on Threadneedle Street in the City of London since 1734. Arguably, its most renowned building is that which was designed by architect Sir John Soane during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.
