His plays and theoretical writings substantially influenced the development of German literature. He is widely considered by theatre historians to be the first dramaturg.
Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (født 22. januar 1729, død 15. februar 1781 i Kamenz (i Sachsen ), var en tysk filosof, forfatter og kunstkritiker.
