His son, Francis, Duke of Teck, was the father of Mary of Teck, queen consort to George V of the United Kingdom. Styling him as "Prince Francis, Duke of Teck" is wrong because 1. he never used that style himself, nor was he properly known as such in England or Germany, and 2. it is improper, exactly as if the Marquess of Cambridge were to be promoted to Duke of Cambridge and proceeded to style himself "Marquess Francis, Duke of Cambridge".
