Richard (York) of York KG is a member of the House of York. Richard, 3rd Duke of York, (aka Plantagenet) was a descendant of King Edward III of England and father of King Edward IV. He can reasonably be considered the instigator of the Wars of the Roses, when he attempted to establish his right to the throne of the Lancastrian King Henry VI.
