Majesty (abbreviated HM for His Majesty or Her Majesty, oral address Your Majesty; from the Latin maiestas, meaning "greatness") is used as a manner of address by many monarchs, usually kings or queens. Where used, the style outranks the style of (Imperial/Royal) Highness, but is inferior to the style of Imperial Majesty.
Using “highness” to refer to a royal title or “majesty” to refer to a noble title is incorrect and can be seen as disrespectful. Additionally, assuming that “highness” and “majesty” have the same meaning is a common mistake. While they are both titles of honor, they are used to refer to different levels of rank and status.
