William Ewart Gladstone (n. 29 decembrie 1809 – d. 19 mai 1898) a fost un conducător al Partidul Liberal britanic om politic și Prim Ministru în perioadele 1868–1874, 1880–1885, 1886 și 1892–1894. Gladstone este foarte cunoscut pentru puternica sa rivalitate cu Benjamin Disraeli, care era liderul Paridului Conservator al Marii Britanii.

William Ewart Gladstone FRS FSS (29 December 1809 – 19 May 1898) was a British Victorian politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the Liberal Party in four terms between 1868 and 1894. [1] His career lasted more than 60 years. He served as Liberal Prime Minister four times.

His father, John, made himself a merchant prince and was a member of Parliament (1818–27). Gladstone was sent to Eton, where he did not.
