12 de ago. de 2008 · To a certain extent, Talk Talk were still playing pop music on Laughing Stock, but it was far more concerned with textures and space than with hooks. This wasn’t radio friendly music by any means, and yet it remained accessible, if for the fact of its sheer grace. It’s an album that requires full immersion on the part of the listener.

Para su siguiente álbum, Laughing Stock, y ya sin la presencia de Webb (que había dejado el grupo y fue reemplazado por una serie de sesionistas), Talk Talk firmó un contrato con Polydor. [1] Laughing Stock salió al mercado en 1991 por medio de Verve (una subcompañía de Polydor) y presenta un estilo similar al de su antecesor, aunque aún menos accesible.
Laughing Stock ist das fünfte und letzte Studioalbum von Talk Talk. Es wurde 1991 veröffentlicht und war das einzige Album der Band, welches auf dem jazz-affinen Label Verve Records erschien, nachdem die Band im Streit EMI verlassen hatte. Wie das Vorgängeralbum Spirit of Eden (1988) gilt es als eines der Pionieralben des Post-Rocks .
