Staff could not have been more patient and warm towards me, and the department was immaculate. Procedure itself was efficient and as comfortable as possible.
Ophthalmology is the medical and surgical management of conditions of the eye and its attached parts. The department undertakes approximately 7,000 day case procedures, 100,000 outpatient attendances and over 20,000 eye casualty attendances per year across Royal Berkshire Hospital, Prince Charles Eye Unit and West Berkshire Community Hospital.

Services. /. Endoscopy. Endoscopy means looking inside the body for medical reasons using an instrument called an endoscope. The unit deals with in and out patient day cases, of which we provide endoscopic investigation of the gastointestinal tract and bronchoscopies. The Endoscopy Unit is on Craven Road, next to the Maternity block.
