Domination of the pro-Russian political party Party of Regions in Kryvyi Rih expelled that organization. In 2010, the Jewish community built a new, large synagogue.

The building had not been allowed to be used for religious purposes since the 1920s due to the anti-religious campaign conducted across the former Soviet Union by the Bolshevik (communist) government in Moscow.
