Edward II kept Christmas at Windsor in 1308, 1309, 1312 and 1314. (fn. 90) On 13 November 1312 his eldest son, afterwards Edward III, was born in the castle, being christened in the chapel of St. Edward. (fn. 91) The prince, who spent his infancy here, (fn. 92) was often afterwards known as Edward of Windsor.
