About the Heong Gallery. The Heong Gallery at Downing College opened in February 2016 as a new gallery for exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The Gallery was designed by Caruso St John Architects (winners of RIBA Stirling Prize 2016) and so named in gratitude for the generous benefaction of Alwyn Heong. It won a RIBA East Award 2017.

(fn. 304) The rector had 40 a. of glebe in 1279, (fn. 305) and his church was valued at 25 to 30 marks in the earlier 13th century (fn. 306) and 40 marks in 1276 and 1291.

In Ivy Court the N. range was begun in 1614 and finished in 1616 (A. Attwater, Pembroke College (1936), 63); in 1670 it was extended 32 ft. to the E. at a cost of £301.

Hace 5 días · In the records of the College of Arms the number of spokes and knives varies, but York Herald's opinion agrees with the arms as given in John Ivory's Foundation of the University of Cambridge (1672) and with the stone carving over the Queens' Lane archway. The College seal, of silver and slightly defaced, is probably the one used by the founder.
