The Gallery was designed by Caruso St John Architects (winners of RIBA Stirling Prize 2016) and so named in gratitude for the generous benefaction of Alwyn Heong. It won a RIBA East Award 2017.

In Ivy Court the N. range was begun in 1614 and finished in 1616 (A. Attwater, Pembroke College (1936), 63); in 1670 it was extended 32 ft. to the E. at a cost of £301.
