15 de dic. de 2006 · This is Ashford and Simpson at their best. This album has a nice jazz and r&b mix that has never really been duplicated by this group. These tracks are beautifully written and performed. "Have you ever tried it " and Gimme Something Real" stand the test of time. If you are a fan of this group it is a must have.

17 de sept. de 2018 · 36 tracks on the first two CDs compellingly tell the Ashford and Simpson story opening with the shimmering and sensual "(I'd Know You Anywhere)," the lead single off the team's Warner Bros. debut Gimme Something Real. The album introduced all but the most diehard fans to the already-famous songwriters as singer-songwriters.

In 1973, a year before Simpson and Ashford were married, they began performing, with the albums Keep It Comin' and Gimme Something Real. After Keep It Comin', they left Motown and signed with Warner Bros.
