5 de ago. de 2016 · The wife of Henry Fitzroy – Lady Mary Howard. In July 1536, Henry Fitzroy died at the age of 17 from Tuberculosis. His death was a huge blow for Henry VIII, not only because he loved his son deeply but because he was left without an heir. Henry had made both his daughters illegitimate and now he couldn’t even legitimize his bastard son.
FitzRoy, Henry, duke of Richmond (1519–36). FitzRoy was Henry VIII's illegitimate son by Elizabeth Blount, a lady-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon. Since Henry had no surviving male heir until 1537, and his marriage to Catherine was disputed, the future of FitzRoy produced much comment.

Henry Fitzroy was the favoured illegitimate son of Henry VIII. Instead of depicting Fitzroy as a confident, wealthy and quasiroyal youth, this intimate portrait shows him in a state of undress, wearing a nightcap and shirt. This unusual presentation suggests his vulnerability and may reflect his terminal ill health.
HENRY FITZROY, DUKE OF RICHMOND, was the son of Henry VIII. and Elizabeth Blount, a lady in waiting on Queen Catherine of Arragon, daughter of John Blount, esq., who, according to Wood, came from Knevet in Shropshire, perhaps Kinglet, an old seat of the Blount family.
