Eliot House will be a posthumous publication for Nelson W. Aldrich, Jr., and a first book for Constantine A. Valhouli. Nelson W. Aldrich, Jr. (1935–2022) served as managing editor of The Paris Review , senior editor at Harper’s and Inc. magazines, and editor-in-chief of The American Benefactor and Civilization , the magazine of the Library of Congress.
Eliot has also earned the distinction of being the only House to require that its members pay $65 in dues. This fee allows students admittance to Eliot’s storied formals, but thankfully those eligible can look to the Student Events Fund to offset the sum. These dues only add to Eliot’s reputation as the most exclusive non-club on campus.
House Tours are available Monday to Friday at 11am – 12pm. Port Eliot would like to be able to invite all ages and abilities, however at present the House Tour requires visitors to use stairways and walk on varied surfaces. Please note that while under 5’s are permitted, the tour is not recommended for this age group.
