John William Ponsonby, 4th Earl of Bessborough PC (31 August 1781 – 16 May 1847) was an English politician, known as Viscount Duncannon from 1793 to 1844. He hailed from the prominent Ponsonby family of Cumberland.

John Ponsonby, 4th Earl of Bessborough (31 August 1781-16 May 1847) was the Whig MP for Knaresborough from 1805 to 1806, Higham Ferrers from 1810 to 1812, Malton from 1812 to 1826, Bandon in 1826, Kilkenny County from 1826 to 1832, and for Nottingham from 1832 to 1834.
