Princess Ida Matilda Adelaide of Schaumburg-Lippe (Bückeburg, 28 July 1852 – Schleiz, 28 September 1891) was the consort of Heinrich XXII, Prince Reuss of Greiz from 1872 until her death. [2] She was the mother of Hermine Reuss of Greiz , second wife of Wilhelm II , the last German Emperor.
Through her marriage to George William, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe, Ida was also a member of the House of Lippe and Princess consort of Schaumburg-Lippe. Princess Helena of Waldeck and Pyrmont was the only daughter of Friedrich, Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont, last reigning Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont, and wife of Nikolaus, Hereditary Grand Duke of Oldenburg.

Adolf I, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe (Adolf Georg) was the eldest of the nine children of Georg Wilhelm, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe and Princess Ida of Waldeck and Pyrmont. He was born at Bückeburg Castle (link in German) in Bückeburg , Principality of Schaumburg-Lippe, now in the German state of Lower Saxony, on August 1, 1817.

Upon joining the Confederation of the Rhine in 1807, Schaumburg-Lippe was elevated to a Principality, and George Wilhelm became the first Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe. He married Princess Ida of Waldeck and Pyrmont on June 23, 1816 and had nine children.
