1 de nov. de 2017 · Platebutikken Rock Shop på Aker Brygge importerte direkte fra USA, og husker jeg ikke helt feil kjøpte jeg debutalbumet til Lyle Lovett og Nanci Griffiths tredje og fjerde album, Once In A Very Blue Moon og The Last Of The True Believers, samme dag. Det var en god dag.

Vik Iyengar at AllMusic wrote, "Nanci Griffith finds her voice on her third studio album, Once in a Very Blue Moon.This is the album where she established her musical identity – she is at home in many genres (which perhaps explains why she never gets played on formatted radio stations), and seamlessly blends folk, bluegrass, and country with a group of stellar musicians ...
It is a sad song and a re-affirming song at the same time, and it is a tribute to Griffith's writing ability. The title track, "Once in a Very Blue Moon," is perhaps the best known to most listeners. My favourite track on this CD is "If I Were the Woman You Wanted." Lyle Lovett wrote it with the gender changed.
8 de dic. de 2023 · The other 3 CDs are 1982’s “Poet In My Window,” 1984’s “Once In a Very Blue Moon,” & 1986’s Grammy-nominated “The Last of the True Believers.” With the 37-minute, 12-track pristinely recorded “Poet In My Window,” the lead track became “Can’t Love Wrong,” when reissued. This is how this CD begins.

28 de jun. de 2023 · The first, Working in Corners, reissues Griffith’s earliest – and long out-of-print – albums, including her 1978 debut, There’s a Light Beyond These Woods, 1982’s Poet in My Window, 1984’s Once in a Very Blue Moon, and 1986’s GRAMMY-nominated The Last of the True Believers (featuring “Love at the Five and Dime” and “Goin’ Gone”).
