  1. Garret Wesley succeeded his father as 2nd Baron Mornington in 1758. In 1760, in recognition of his musical and philanthropic achievements, he was created Viscount Wellesley , of Dangan Castle in the County of Meath, and Earl of Mornington .He married Hon. Anne Hill-Trevor, eldest daughter of the banker Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Lord Dungannon and wife Anne Stafford in 1759.

  2. Wesley represented Trim in the Irish House of Commons from 1757 until 1758, when he succeeded his father as 2nd Baron Mornington. In 1760, in recognition of his musical and philanthropic achievements, he was created Viscount Wellesley, of Dangan Castle in the County of Meath, and Earl of Mornington.

  3. Garret Wesley, 1st Earl of Mornington (in the Irish peerage) is today remembered not so much for his glees as for his siring of the Duke of Wellington. First Professor of Music at Trinity College, Dublin, he won the Catch Club's prize medal in 1779 with this glee.
