  4. The Ruskin Library has a particular focus on twentieth-century and twenty first-century art publications, complementing the research holdings of the University Libraries. The library comprises of more than 6,500 volumes in its lending and reference collections, including exhibition catalogues, art journals, pamphlets, zines, artists’ monographs and other art publications.

The Ruskin DPhil programme includes two strands: the practice-led DPhil (which includes a substantial written component) and the contemporary art history and theory DPhil (by written thesis only). In the case of the contemporary art history and theory DPhil, the Ruskin can offer supervision across a wide range of research projects.
